Our editorial standards
Clear sources, honest limits and useful information before a purchase.
Glowwy is an independent health, beauty and wellbeing publication for UK readers. Our job is to make evidence and purchase information easier to understand. We do not claim medical credentials, hands-on product testing or clinical review where none has taken place.
Academic sources come before a headline
Health articles cite identifiable academic studies, with direct links to journals or PubMed records. We prefer relevant peer-reviewed reviews and human studies, check population, design, publication date and important limitations, and look for corrections. Newer does not automatically mean stronger. A paper’s publication year may differ from its study dates or literature-search cut-off.
Findings and uncertainty stay together
We distinguish associations from causal findings, group averages from individual outcomes, and laboratory measures from changes people actually experience. Abstract-only access is labelled. Funding, conflicts and relevant correction notices appear with the evidence. A small trial does not establish a universal treatment or a winning product.
Who writes and checks the articles
Glowwy editorial uses AI-assisted research and writing. Source records are inspected and linked; no fictional expert profiles, clinician approvals, patient stories or testimonials are used. These launch articles have not received independent clinical review. General educational information cannot replace individual assessment by a qualified professional.
Images and shopping
Seasonal editorial photographs are licensed and credited; synthetic editorial illustrations are AI-generated and labelled. They do not show study participants, verified customers or results from using a product. Academic findings are separate from optional shopping links. Commissions do not buy a favourable scientific conclusion or an editorial ranking. Buying guides explain purchase terms using merchant sources; they are not academic health articles.
Seasonal edits and daily checks
Seasonal collections help readers find relevant existing work. They do not turn a product into a seasonal health necessity. Routine checks should look for new research, corrections, expired offers and changed programme terms. A date changes only after a real source check; an article is updated when its content or evidence changes. We do not manufacture a new study or a “trending” label to fill a publishing quota.
Corrections and accountability
For a correction, include the article URL, the passage and the primary source that changes it. See our contact page for the currently available route for questions and corrections. We do not claim independent clinical review or a named expert review where none has taken place.
Using our tools as a source
Calculators show their methods, reference sources, assumptions and limits. Entries are processed locally and are not saved or sent by the tools. Cite the specific tool and its checked date, rather than presenting an estimate as a diagnosis. Glowwy is publicly accessible. Linking to a tool or article does not imply a partnership or clinical endorsement.
