Ancient wisdom
Meet traditions with curiosity and context.
Ideas about care belong to particular histories and communities. We make space for their meaning while asking specific questions about health claims.
Explore the contextTwo questions worth keeping separate
What does a practice mean in its own context? What evidence supports a particular health outcome? The answer to one does not settle the other. Personal meaning can matter without being a treatment claim.
Glowwy’s idea of balance is an invitation to notice changing circumstances and adjust. It is our philosophy, not proof that all traditions share one mechanism. Illness is not a personal failure. Read our Soul · Mind · Body philosophy.
Modern regulation is a separate framework
Homeostasis describes regulation within workable ranges. Allostasis concerns adaptation to changing demands, with definitions debated. Ramsay and Woods’ theoretical review and McEwen’s conceptual stress review discuss these modern frameworks. They do not validate doshas, qì, a measurable soul or a product that “resets” the nervous system.
Choose where to begin
Ayurveda
Read a bounded introduction to Ayurveda’s traditional concepts and routines, with CCRAS attribution and clear evidence limits.
Traditional Chinese medicine
Explore yin and yang and qì as traditional concepts, with descriptive sources and clear limits on health interpretations.
Exploring other traditions
A practical exploration guide: find a practice’s community and context, separate meaning from outcome claims and ask better source questions.
Sources and scope
CCRAS description, pages 1–2; NHC-hosted Chinese medical theory account; NLM Qi terminology. See the introductions for how each is used.
These links provide descriptive traditional accounts and physiological reviews, not trials of Glowwy’s approach. The NHC-hosted text is credited to China Daily; the NLM record defines a term. Our focused source reading has access limits and is not a comprehensive review of either tradition or its treatments.
These pages reuse the bounded reading in About Glowwy. They do not claim a new comprehensive source review or independent clinical review.
